Mottingham Hall Nursery Children

The Importance of Safeguarding

Safeguarding children underpins all that we do.

  • We ensure we employ suitable vetted professionals to work with our children and families. Overseas checks and DBS checks are carried out before employment commences.

  • We maintain a safe environment without causing unnecessary restrictions.

  • We provide consistently reviewed risk assessments not only by our team but by the children as well – helping them identify with risk in a positive way from an early age.

  • We understand our responsibility to GDPR and the importance of confidentiality and appropriate information sharing.

  • We have a clear and robust and effective Safeguarding policy. All educators are aware of the escalation process.

  • Safeguarding training is always provided and current. It is regularly discussed during team meetings, and 1:1’s.

Safeguarding guidance and information is available in every room including shared areas.

Security

Our first concern is for the safety and well-being of your children.

Access to the nursery grounds is via a secure pin code pad and biometric fingerprint system to enter the building. Reception is situated next to the main entrance door. The nursery grounds and car parks are fully covered by CCTV.

On collection of your child, we will release your child only to someone you have authorised by either producing a photograph, or password and this person must be over the age of 18 years.

Identity verification is kept on your child’s file for reference. It is important those contacts are people your child is familiar with and that in the event of any illness or injury, attendance at the nursery at short notice will be possible. Nursery must be kept informed of any changes to contact information or changes in persons who are authorised to collect from the nursery.

Please note nursery cannot legally deny access to a parent or carer with Parental Responsibility or whose name is specified on the registration form unless there is an active Restraining Order on file or a specific schedule of court-ordered visitation rights that prohibits this.

Nursery will give priority to the safety and security of your child in the first instance..
