The Importance of Safeguarding
Safeguarding is top of the agenda in all that we do.
We ensure we employ the right professionals to work with our children.
We maintain a safe environment without causing unnecessary restrictions.
We provide consistent risk assessments not only by our team but by the children as well – helping them identify with risk in a positive way from an early age.
We promote transparent management on a daily basis so that everyone entering our nursery has the information they need immediately to hand.
Our children and their families are the priority whenever a decision is made and wherever possible our families are involved in the decision making process to ensure their children reap the rewards of a secure, friendly and stimulating environment.
Our Management team use and promote ECERS (Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale) and ITERS (Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale). Used to measure the effectiveness of performance, furnishings and resources in a childcare setting and ultimately to plan layout, and to purchase appropriate equipment. Ultimately child activities, environment, team, parents and local community relationships are always at the forefront in all decisions. We share our research and results with our parents and are always interested in feedback.
Nursery’s first concern is for the safety and well-being of your children. We will only release your child to someone you have authorised by either producing a photograph, or password and this person must be over the age of 18 years. Identity verification is kept on your child’s file for reference. It is important those contacts are people your child is familiar with and also that in the event of any illness or injury, attendance at the nursery at short notice will be possible. Nursery must be kept informed of any changes to contact information or changes in persons who are authorised to collect from the nursery.
We ask you to bring your child directly to their room to ensure safe and secure supervision at all times. This also provides the opportunity for you to speak to our team and share any information which might be relevant to the care of the child on any particular day. We are understanding of busy work lifestyles and last minute challenges in getting to and from work and we remain flexible to meet your needs but do encourage and recognise the need for a regular routine. Therefore, we make a small charge for late collection which is explained in our contract.
Please note nursery cannot legally deny access to a parent or carer with Parental Responsibility or whose name is specified on the registration form unless there is an active Restraining Order on file or a specific schedule of court-ordered visitation rights that prohibits this.
Nursery will give priority to the safety and security of your child in the first instance at all times.
