Committed to providing outstanding high-quality
Mottingham Hall has been awarded the Ofsted Outstanding Award. This award would not have been possible without the continued hard work and dedication of our highly qualified Educators.
We adhere to the statutory requirements and ethos of EYFS curriculum. Each Educator has their own Continuous Performance Development plan which is closely monitored and training opportunities on and off site are consistently promoted. Our policy is for every Educator to have First Aid and Child Protection Training.

Leadership Team
Melanie Pearce has been the operational Director at Mottingham Hall since it was founded in 2014. She now works alongside Danny Latchford, our development Director, who joined the Mottingham Hall team in 2023.
With 33 years of experience in Early Years, Melanie managed nurseries for different corporate chains before co-founding Mottingham Hall. Melanie is dedicated to nature-based learning and prioritises children’s wellbeing to ensure effective teaching and learning. Her passion shines through in creating an outstanding early years’ experience for the children and families at Mottingham Hall with the unwavering support of her amazing leadership team. Melanie’s dynamic and enthusiastic approach is evident in all aspects of the care and education we provide.
Emma Savage has worked at Mottingham Hall for Children for 10 years. Since joining, she has achieved a Level 3 Early Years qualification, a BA Honours in Early Years degree, Level 3 SENCO training, and is close to obtaining her Early Years Teacher Status. Emma is dedicated to creating an inquisitive environment for the children and has led initiatives that contributed to our curiosity accreditation.
Martina has worked in educational settings for over 10 years, having joined us at Mottingham Hall for Children 6 years ago. During this time, she has gained her level 3 Early Years qualification and recently her level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner qualification.
Martina supported Emma with the Curiosity Approach accreditation and the redevelopment of the setting when the extension was completed. She is driven by her ambition and strives for excellence in providing the best possible outcomes for all children, ensuring children’s learning and development is imbedded in all we do.
In March 2024, Mottingham Hall for children celebrated its 10th anniversary. The journey began in March 2014 and has since transformed into a vibrant and one-of-a-kind early years provision.
Significant changes have been made to enhance both indoor and outdoor learning environments, daily operations, and the overall quality of services. This includes the establishment of an award-winning Forest School and achieving accreditation from the Forest School association. More recently, we launched our Farm which now houses goats, chickens, rabbits, and guinea pigs. Our leadership team is dynamic and possesses the experience, knowledge, and vision required to continually improve the setting. Our goal is to create an environment that encourages children’s natural curiosity and fosters the development of essential life skills.
